Location. This lovely light-filled cottage is located on a hill with a magnificent view overlooking Hirtle’s Beach on one side and the village of Kingsburg on the other. The house is a 10-minute walk to one of Canada’s most scenic beaches, with walking access to hiking at Gaff Point.
The house. The main house has three bedrooms with loft, and two bathrooms. There is a large wrap-around deck with panoramic views that connects to a fully renovated, adjoining guest house with two Queen size beds and full bathroom amenities. The house also has laundry facilities and an outdoor shower. The fully equipped modern kitchen is next to an open concept main floor. Ideal for families. Details:

The area. In addition to its close proximity to Hirtle’s Beach, the house is walking distance to Kingsburg Beach and is surrounded by rolling hills. It is located 30 minutes from Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage site, near golf courses, whale watching, cycling and kayaking. The picturesque towns of Mahone Bay and Chester are a short drive away.
Getting there. The house is a 90-minute drive from the Halifax International airport. From Highway 103, take Exit 11 to Lunenburg, turn right on Route 332 to Rose Bay. From there, turn left to Kingsburg and then right on Hirtle’s Beach Road and right again up MacKay Hill Lane, the last road before you reach the beach. Go to the top of the hill until you cannot go any further – the Red House awaits.
Rental and Rates. From July to mid-September, the minimum stay is one week with a maximum of 8 people occupying the main house and the guest house. For the balance of the year, the minimum stay is two nights. On statutory 3-day weekends, the minimum stay is 3 nights.
